About me

Hello, I’m Ian Whittaker. I was an Equity Research analyst in the City (i.e. financial markets) for 20 years covering the Media and Tech areas (as well as some telecoms). I have a proven track record of being ahead of the curve in understanding industry dynamics and the implications for companies.

I was City AM Analyst of the Year twice, the only person (so far) to have won the award more than once and am a regular contributor for the City AM newspaper, together with several trade publications.

I have significant experience in helping companies find the most suitable financing options including in IPOs and providing advice to companies both at a strategic and financial level.

I now carry out consultancy and advisory work under the banner of my company, Liberty Sky Advisors, focusing on the major structural, financial and competitive situations facing companies and sectors across the whole of the TMT space.

I have made numerous media appearances including Bloomberg, Sky News, CNBC and Radio 4 together with frequent speeches at major industry events and conferences.
